There are many problem in Bangladeshi bureaucracy. Bureaucrats are not fully involve with their work. And, they can not give service to the people due to local leader whose are government party. And it hampers hierarchical duty. Upper level bureaucrats order to the lower level bureaucrats to give services to the people. But, they can not do their work at their own experience. Political leader interfere on their work. Because they are government party. There is a notable incident .
Few days ago government took a project. Eliminating poverty, gave 30 kg rice among root level people at 10 tk per kg. It was for who are live under poverty. So, they listed many people. List should be made by local bureaucrats. But, it was made by local political leader. Whose were supporter of ruling govt. party. As a result, the leader listed these people whose are supporter of ruling party. But, many of them were not poor and are not eligible for this service. Many people who do a job, school teacher, were listed here. Because they support ruling party. But, there were many people live under poverty they were not listed. And, they appointed dealer among them. All dealers were supporter of Awami league. Again, they gave rice 26 kg instead of 30 kg.
At union level government give relief for the people. And it is divided by political leader. They give relief to the awami league supporter people. And among their relative. But, union secretary can not do the work though it is government work. So, in every government work bureaucrats have no freedom to give services. Everywhere political interfere is exist. Therefore, they can not work hierarchically. And create chaos among them. If bureaucrats took eliminating project, under poverty living people would get their suitable service. No discrimination base on political party. But lower level bureaucrats can not do the work perfectly due to political interfere. It is one of the most important problem in bureaucracy.
Some days ago, I have seen a news. There are allegation of nepotism, irregularities and corruption in distribution of VGD, adult and widow, maternal allowance, agricultural subsidies and fertilizer-seeds to distribution. Some of the villagers complained to the UNO. Victims said that local public representative extorted and embezzled by the help of different distributive authorities including the bank and others. But the representatives have denied all the allegation and have expressed fears in different ways to the victims. I think these works were done by the administration without the representatives of the public, then such corruption would not have happened.
