There are a number of ways you can contribute to the fastai library.

If you find a bug and want to report it, see Contributing.md. If you are not sure that the problem you found is a bug, you can ask by starting a thread in the fastai users section of the forum.

If you have not stumbled upon a problem and want to contribute, you can find a ‘to do’ list by following the four steps below:

  1. Go to the fast.ai forum home page: https://forums.fast.ai/
  2. Find the fastai users square:

3. Click on ‘dev projects’. You will see the list of discussion threads below:

4. If you are a beginner, the two threads you should look through are “Documentation improvements” and “Improving/Expanding Tests”.

After you pick your project, you can update the “Dev Projects Index”.

If you are more advanced, switch to ‘fastai dev’ and read through the “Developer Chat” thread.

To make changes you will have to do a developer install.

Quickly skim read the Contributing.md and the Notes For Developers doc page.

For more info on how to author docs or write tests see the linked docs.

Note that, as of 2018–12–18, the total number of posts in “Dev Projects Index” is less than 100, so your help will be appreciated! :)
