Sometimes, Slowing Down is The Best Thing You Can Do For Yourself
Life can be a real roller coaster, huh? All the responsibilities yelling for attention — jobs; family; social events, and every other thing that demands our urgent attention. We move from one thing to another, some family event or another, some job outing or another, some church or neighborhood thing that needs doing.
We are putting so much into life yet still suffering from FOMO. We are doing so many things but feeling like life is passing us by. There is always something better, brighter, glossier, newer, nicer, more expensive, and out of reach. We feel as if we should have more, get more, want more, and be more. We are inundated with the voices of gurus, positivity preachers, motivational speakers, success teachers, and self-proclaimed messiahs pontificating that we can have it all if we just ‘follow three steps to a better you’; ‘subscribe to this newsletter’; ‘attend this master class’; ‘follow these seven principles’; sign up for this one-in-a-lifetime retreat’; ‘buy this New York Times bestseller’ and so on.

But are we really getting better, more successful, healthier, and happier, or are we busier, more anxious, stressed out, burned out, and unhappier? Is the endless treadmill of life really getting us…
