A Beautiful Phenomenal story

I watched the movie ‘Ordinary Angels’ currently available on Netflix. It is such a moving, poignantly beautiful, and heartbreaking story. There were several tear-jerking moments in the film, and these reminded me that there is still good in this world. This movie teaches many valuable lessons. For me, it was a reminder that with community, tenacity, hope, and faith in action, we can overcome almost any odds. Another valuable lesson learned is that we all have something to offer. This could be time, effort, love and care, help, network, connections, etc.

Ordinary Angels is listed as a Christian drama film starring Hilary Swank, Alan Ritchson, Nancy Travis, and Tamala Jones, among others. It tells the story of the Schmitt family: Ed, his wife Theresa, and their daughters Ashley and Michelle. Theresa has recently passed away from cancer, and Michelle, their youngest daughter, suffers from a condition that requires a liver transplant to save her life.

Alongside the story of the Schmitts is Sharon’s story. Sharon is a spirited hairdresser who co-owns a hair salon with her best friend, Rose. Sharon is battling her own demons, and this makes Rose afraid for her. After a night of particularly intense partying and alcohol, Rose orders Sharon to Alcoholics Anonymous.

Ed is working hard as a construction worker/builder, and his mom moves in to assist with the care of the girls and the home. But backlogs of medical costs and bills put him under the strain of mounting debt. Sharon reads…
