DeepDAO raises $3m for future expansion
Let’s kick it off with some exciting news. Early June DeepDAO closed its seed investment round, we’re grateful for the support our backers give us and look forward to working with our investors. We are committed to build DeepDAO and serve the DAO space and crypto as a whole.
People in Governance AUM
This month we added the People in Governance feature to DeepDAO.io. DeepDAO is now tracking the economic power of the top 1000 people in governance. This group consists of individuals who play very influential roles in the crypto space: Founders, protocol politicians, VCs, researchers and builders. The data available in the DeepDAO People section gives us insights into the kind of assets held by these well-informed groups of crypto people.
Gnosis Safe + Snapshot DAOs on DeepDAO
More features? Yes, We also added a new DAO platform to the DeepDAO dashboard; Gnosis Safe + Snapshot. The combination of Snapshot for voting and Gnosis Safe for treasury and execution is adopted by many DAOs and has become somewhat of a standard for lean DAOs in the space.
Several large DAOs, such as Balancer, Rarible, Sushi, GnosisDAO, and Yearn Finance, utilize the combination of Gnosis Safe/Snapshot for crucial aspects of their DAO governance and operations. In this first batch, seven new DAOs are added to DeepDAO. Many more are coming.
With the new additions, the total number of Decentralized Organizations listed on our platform rises to 116, and the total AUM jumps from $ 548.2M to over $803M USD. The number of members or token holders holding voting power in DAOs rises to over 190,000.
For the first time, DeepDAO is adding a platform that implements DAOs by using a modular design. The Safe/Snapshot combination separates the functions of the DAO to voting with one system and enacting decisions with another. The voting system, in this case, is Snapshot, and the mechanism for implementing decisions being Gnosis Safes.
DAO Highlight: Decentraland Platform, A DAO Controlling a Metaverse Game
Decentraland DAO, powered by Ethereum, is the main governor of Decentraland — a platform of a shared virtual world (“metaverse”). Decentraland went public in Feb. 2020, along with the launch of its 1st version DAO. It is a great example of a DAO running a multifaceted online project which is not strictly financial, while having decisions on its most critical aspects, including ground rules, reached by its users.
