Living in Harmony with God’s Will

As humans, it is easy for us to fall into the trap of thinking that we are in control of our lives and that everything that happens to us is a result of our own choices and actions. However, the reality is that the universe belongs to God and we are merely His creations, His mamluks, working in His property. This idea is conveyed in a verse from the Quran, which gives us a healing message and reminds us to not consider ourselves as the owners of our lives.

According to Said Nursi, we are not capable of controlling our lives and should not consider ourselves as masters. Instead, we should trust in God’s power and mercy and surrender our lives to Him. This means that we should have faith in His wisdom and let go of our worries and fears. When we surrender to God’s will, we can find peace and comfort in knowing that everything that happens is a part of His plan and that He is always taking care of us.

One of the verses from the Quran that supports this idea is “Verily, all things have We created in proportion and measure.” (Quran 54:49). This verse reminds us that everything in the universe is created in a balanced and orderly way, and that everything happens for a reason. This includes the good and the bad, the easy and the difficult, and everything in between. When we surrender to God’s will, we can trust that everything that happens to us is a part of His plan and that He is always working for our ultimate good.

Another Quranic verse that emphasizes the idea of surrendering to God is “And it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and it may be that you love a thing which is bad for you. Allah knows, and you do not know.” (Quran 2:216). This verse reminds us that our own understanding and perception of what is good and bad may not always align with God’s plan for us. When we surrender to His will, we can trust that everything that happens to us is for our own ultimate good, even if we may not understand it at the time.

Finally, Said Nursi reminds us that when we are faced with difficulties and challenges, it is important to have faith in God’s wisdom and watch from a distance rather than trying to interfere. This idea is reflected in the following quote: “When you are horrified, like İbrahim Hakkı, “Let’s see what Mevla do / Whatever they do, they do well.” Also, watch from the windows, don’t go into them.” This quote encourages us to have faith in God’s wisdom and trust that everything will work out for the best, even in the face of adversity.

In conclusion, surrendering to God’s will is a powerful reminder that we are not in control of our lives and that everything that happens to us is part of His plan. By trusting in God’s power and mercy, we can find peace and comfort in knowing that He is always taking care of us. And by having faith in His wisdom, we can trust that everything will work out for the best, even in the face of adversity. So let us surrender to God’s will and trust in His wisdom and mercy.
