450,000 UAV’s Expected By 2020, Four Times Today’s Number

For successful, safe and legal flights, the unmanned aerial vehicles need to be registered with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Adding to it, the U.S. regulators expect the increase in the number of commercial drones in coming five years.

FAA released a report that about 450000 unmanned aerial vehicles can be seen flying in domestic airspace by 2022. Furthermore, with increase in the UAV’s, the commercial-drone pilots will also show an increasing pattern to about 300000 (roughly 70000 currently).

FAA considers that both the number of commercial drones and their pilots will increase for private aviators and associated manned aircraft.
