A Supersonic Missile-Firing Drone To Be Developed By Russia

Russia declares that they are developing a supersonic, missile-armed drone. According to Alexander Nemov, Deputy Chief of the Research Department at the 30th Central Scientific Research Institute, “The drone will carry guided and unguided weapons.”

The fact that the UAV’s will hit targets in the ‘operational-strategic depth’ suggests a drone aimed not at battlefield targets, but rather at the target of striking up to hundreds of miles behind the enemy lines.

The development of such drones will be logical, and UAV’s have become a military and cultural icon. This new chopper will feature an additional wing, with the flying capability of 400 km/hr.
