Which is Best: LiDAR or Photogrammetry?

Generally, the question arises, about the best among the photogrammetry or LIDAR. Professionals have explored in great detail for which solution would work best for them.

Aleksander, a University professor of cartography, said, “When you start to get deeper, the level of detail and ease of use of the data, can transform the way businesses operate.” He also states that, both these technologies have as many differences as similarities.

LIDAR can generate more precise 3D cloud files, and on the other hand, Photogrammetry generates full-colour 3D and 2D models such as raw images, orthomaps, Digital Surface Models and 3D print clouds. Apart from that, specific project should be analyzed separately in order to opt for the optimal technology.
