Time to time, we are getting exciting and challenging requests from our clients around the world.

Lately, one of our partners (Yes, at DeepDive, we see all our clients as partners!) approached us with challenging ask. They used to have a node that holds a lot of crypto assets, but, unfortunately, they had no admin/root access to it. Somehow, the previous development team (contractors) who built this node, “lost” the credentials to it.

So, we accepted the challenge!

The partner told us how much crypto assets they believe are stored on the node. The fascinating part was discovered when DeepDive’s team conducted the forensic research. We not just managed to gain administrative level access to the node. We also found that the adequate amount of crypto assets on the node was many times higher than expected. According to the current market value of the assets that we managed to recover, our partner got back an extra 2.7 million dollars.

A good reason for the small celebration :)
