US Will Dispatch Carrier Battle Groups For India In Case Of Indo-China War
The US is not ready to sit idle and watch a war grow and take its shape. Two experts told TNN in an interview that the US is ready to back India up in case a military conflict occurs between India and China.
A senior fellow, Zack Cooper at the Washington based Center for Strategic and International Studies said, “I do not think that the United States would become involved in a border conflict between China and India, but I do think that an increasingly competitive China-India dynamic is likely to lead to increased security cooperation between the United States and India.” He told this to TNN(Times News Network.)
Cooper added that the US is trying to balance against China’s growing power and India will most likely play a major role in this balancing effort.
In that case, if China continues to pursue against India, the capital- Beijing will help de-escalate the crisis and resolve the stalemate without any violent conflict.
Why exactly will Beijing come in between?
The US and China competition have kept Beijing in the loop recently. The US is planning to enhance its naval presence in case of an Indo- China war and Beijing will be a great help in it.
A professor of Asia-Pacific Center for Security in Honolulu, Mohak Malik said, “Washington is expected to provide logistical, intelligence and material support to India’s military in case of hot war.” He even mentioned that Washington might even dispatch an aircraft carrier and submarines to monitor the Indian ocean and keep a track of Chinese naval assets.
Not just this but traces have been found that there are disturbances in the South China Sea and a clash between China and India can be sensed building up.
In case there is a war, Chinese prefer to have a short one in order to leave Indians bleed. That will not just help them win the war but claim a Sino-centric regional order in Asia.
Whatever be the case, China will still be concerned about the US taking sides with India.
