DeFi for the People: In the News
The launch of DeFi for the People garnered global news coverage across the U.S., Europe, and Asia Pacific, with notable crypto trade articles in CoinDesk and CoinTelegraph as well as payment trade stories in Benzinga and Finextra. Celo co-founder Rene Reinsberg also joined the pod at Decrypt Daily to discuss the program and how DeFi for the People will accelerate the widespread adoption of DeFi worldwide.

Working in collaboration with Ethereum-native protocols such as Aave, Curve, Sushi, PoolTogether, 0x and UMA — as well as Ethereum infrastructure providers such as Chainlink, RabbitHole and The Graph — the program “will offer more than $100 million in educational initiatives, grants, and incentives,” according to the announcement.
The initiative is built on the Celo blockchain and looks to harness the decentralized nature of the blockchain ecosystem to increase financial inclusivity for the world’s 6 billion mobile phone users.
