Feature Release: Expeditions
A Brand New Way to Quest
DeFi Kingdoms is thrilled to announce the release of Expeditions, a series of premium features to enhance and simplify the Hero Questing experience. Expeditions allow your Heroes to Quest for extended durations, with accumulated rewards claimable at any time.
The Xzyzar have arrived in the realms leading Expedition Caravans, and they are eager to bring your Heroes along to help them hone their skills.

Expedition Basics
Expeditions are an extension of the Quest system, and follow many of the same rules and mechanics. All existing quests — Fishing, Foraging, etc. — can be used as Expeditions, and players make the same choices about which Heroes to send, at what skill level, and for how many attempts. Expeditions have the same rewards as their quest counterparts.
Additionally, players choose how many quest iterations should be performed on the expedition. An iteration is a single cycle of the Heroes performing the quest and then recovering the stamina that was expended on it. The number of iterations you choose is limited only by the duration of your locked JEWEL, so you could create an expedition that lasts for less than 1 day or for up to 3 years.
Key Differences
There are a handful of differences between standard quests and expeditions, aimed at improving efficiency:
- All expeditions run independently and simultaneously, and are not queued behind one another.
- Fishing, Foraging, Training Quests, and Gold Mining have no queue limits. Any number of Expeditions can be created in a single wallet running these quest types.
- Each Gardening pool and Token Mining are limited to 3 active expeditions at a time per wallet.
- A new “unlimited” Gardening Pool, called Gaia’s Garden is available for expeditions. Any number of expeditions can be performed in this pool, rewarding minimum token rewards and jackpots, as well as standard Gardening items.
Additionally, Gardening Pools and Token Mining are limited to either standard quests or expeditions at a time. All quests/expeditions must be completed before using the other.
Fees & Escrow
As a premium feature, Expeditions require a small fee of 0.0003 JEWEL per stamina expended by each Hero for the entire duration of the expedition. This fee is collected when the expedition is started and placed in escrow. They are then distributed whenever rewards are claimed by the player.
JEWEL fees collected from Expeditions follow the standard distribution schedule of: 5% Burned, 15% Jeweler Rewards, 30% Quest Fund, and 50% Development Fund.
Any Pet Treats or Stamina Potions included with the expedition (see Power-Ups, below) are similarly placed in escrow and consumed as needed.
If at any time an expedition is canceled, all unused fees and other escrowed items will be returned to the player.
Power-Ups
Expeditions function as a series of Power-Ups so that players may choose which features they want to use. The following Power-Ups are available:
Wild Unknown
Cost: 10 c/sJEWEL per 30 Heroes
Wild Unknown is the first and primary Power-Up, which grants access to the Expedition system on a per-Hero basis. Once a Hero is assigned to this Power-Up, it will be eligible to be placed in a new expedition.
Gravity Feeder
Cost: 100 c/sJEWEL
Gravity Feeder allows players to keep their Pets fed throughout the duration of the expedition with either Regular or Premium Pet Treats. Players choose a treat type and escrow enough treats to keep all of their Pets from going hungry. Any unused treats will be returned when the expedition is completed or canceled.
Perpetual Potion Machine
Cost: 300 c/sJEWEL
Perpetual Potion Machine allows players send their Heroes with Stamina Vials to reduce the downtime between quest iterations. Players may choose how many Stamina Vials to send, in multiples of the number of Heroes on the expedition (e.g. for a 6-Hero expedition, only 6, 12, 18, etc. potions).
Stamina Vials are only usable on attempt-based quest types (Fishing, Foraging, and Training Quests), and each iteration must consume at least 25 stamina. Vials are only applied after each iteration is completed, so they will not be initially applied if the Heroes do not begin the expedition with full stamina.
Any unused Stamina Vials will be returned when the expedition is completed or canceled.
Auto-Leveling
In a future Phase Two of Expeditions, an additional Power-Up will be released for the automatic leveling of Heroes that are on active expeditions.
In the meantime, players will need to cancel an expedition in order to perform the meditation ritual. You can view one potential flow in this helpful video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3wirA_hepo.
Expeditions offer a new way for players to passively interact with DeFi Kingdoms and keep their Heroes busy, allowing them more time to engage in other content within the Kingdoms. We look forward to seeing you in Void Hunts or our upcoming Player vs Player Combat!
Happy Questing!
