DeFi Kingdoms is officially expanding the Colosseum to be the home of not only our own Tournament series, but everyone’s Tournaments, taking competitive player vs player gameplay to a whole new level. Launching May 7th, players, projects, guilds, and anyone who wants to have fun, reach the DeFi Kingdoms player base, and create their own competition will be able to utilize the DFK Hosted Tournament system.
DFK Hosted Tournament system allows anyone to create their own rulesets, with access to a variety of settings to shape playstyle and requirements in order to make the perfect Tournament.
Hosted Tournaments will be available at three different tiers, all giving access to all of the various settings. The Basic Tier allows hosts to name their tournament, displaying directly to players. The Basic Image Tier adds the ability for a host to include an image (must be approved separately, discussed below) which will display in the Registration screen for the tournament. Finally, the Premium Image Tier takes that same image and puts it directly into the game, displaying in each and every match of the Tournament, as well as replays, maximizing exposure for the host.
In addition to the rules available, hosts can also set their own entry fees, sponsor bouts, and provide rewards for those participating in their Tournament. Hosts will receive 25% of entry fees to their tournament.
In order to facilitate these Tournaments, there is a required Hosting Fee. The Basic Tier has a cost of 5 USDC, the Basic Image Tier 10 USDC, and the Premium Image Tier 20 USDC. The Basic Image Tier will also include a token that can be redeemed for a free Basic Tier tournament, while the Premium Image Tier will include two of those tokens. Additionally, custom images will require manual approval, and can be submitted in-game for review. There is a one-time fee of 50 USDC to have an image approved, however, once approved, that image can be used indefinitely, including by other hosts.
