Introducing DeFi Kingdoms Player vs Player Tournaments
Fight the best, be the best, earn rewards!
DeFi Kingdoms brings competitive gameplay to the forefront of the Colosseum with their new PvP Tournaments feature, exclusively on the Metis blockchain. Launching February 26th, a 6-month series of tournaments begins, where players will face off in progressively more challenging environments, culminating in an All-Star Tournament to showcase the best players in the Kingdoms.
Over $75,000 in cash-equivalent prizes will be rewarded throughout this tournament series, plus exclusive NFTs and other prizes!
Not designed solely for the most competitive players, there are several ways to get involved in tournaments, including spectating and voting on winners to earn rewards!
How to Get Involved
For those seeking the highest levels of competition, glory, and the biggest prizes, prepare your legion for battle! Fighting your way to the All-Star Tournament and emerging as champion will add your name to the history books (and come with a pretty significant payout).
For those wishing to dip a toe into the competitive field, there will be many tournaments with a variety of rulesets, inviting all Heroes to take their place in the Colosseum. In addition to the cash-equivalent prizes for these tournaments, players will also earn Qualifier Tokens for higher levels of competition. Many of these qualifier tokens are also tradable if the player wishes to bow out of further competition or simply earns multiple of them.
For those less inclined to put it all on the line themselves, take the scholarly approach and become an expert on who will win it all! Each match in every tournament can be sponsored — and the majority are guaranteed to be sponsored — allowing players to utilize their Influence to predict (vote on) the winners of matches and earn rewards.
General Tournament Structure
The Submersian Grand Opening Series is a progressive series, where placing high enough in one level of the tournament will earn you access to the next level, in addition to rewards built into every tournament.
Tournament play begins with Daily Skirmishes, available twice per day Monday through Friday, with those placing high enough earning qualifier tokens, in addition to other rewards, to Weekend Warrior Tournaments, available twice per week. The top players in Weekend Warriors will then progress to Champion Invitational Tournaments, available once per month. Finally, the best of the best will make their way to the All-Star Tournament, a final event in this 6-month series of tournaments, where the final winner will be crowned and take home a grand prize of $10,000!
Worry not, should victory slip between your fingers, there is also a Revengers path that will still lead to the All-Star Tournament, though with a slightly tougher journey.
Tournaments will be bracketed, single-elimination style. As players are eliminated by round, only 1st and 2nd place will have distinct finishes. Those eliminated in the semi-finals will be in a two-way tie for 3rd, the previous round will be a four-way tie for 5th, and so on. All tournaments will also provide XP for each match won or lost within the tournament.
The next section provides explicit details of the tournament series. To summarize, perform well in a tournament, win prizes and progress to the next one, and the prizes just keep getting bigger and better!

Tournament Rules and Rewards
*All dollar amounts shown are estimates, as entry fees and prizes can be in variable tokens with constantly shifting values. We aim to maintain these entry fees and prize allocations throughout the entire duration of this 6-month series, however, we do reserve the right to make changes, with notice, if necessary.

Daily Skirmishes
- Twice per day, Monday through Friday, varying times
- 16-player tournaments
- Varying rulesets and requirements — one ruleset will be utilized at least twice per week to add some predictability
- $5 entry fee
- All matches will be pre-sponsored and available for voting with Influence
Prizes:
- 1st: $30, 1x Submersian Chest, and tradable Qualifier Token to Weekend Warriors
- 2nd: $15 and tradable Qualifier Token to Weekend Warriors
- Two-way tie 3rd: $5 and tradable Qualifier Token to Weekend Warriors each
- All other competitors will receive a non-tradable Qualifier Token to Revengers
Weekend Warriors
- Twice per week, one each on Saturday and Sunday, varying times
- 16-player tournaments, requires Qualifier Token from Daily Skirmish
- Rotating randomly between Level 10 No Limits, Level 10 Regular Summon Only, Level 10 Stat Limits, Level 20 No Limits, Level 20 Regular Summon Only, and Level 20 Stat Limits
- $10 entry fee
- All matches will be pre-sponsored and available for voting with Influence
Prizes:
- 1st: $100, 2x Gilded Chests, 2x Submersian Chests, and tradable Qualifier Token to Champion Invitational
- 2nd: $40, 1x Gilded Chest, and tradable Qualifier Token to Champion Invitational
- Two-way tie 3rd: $20, 1x Submersian Chest, and non-tradable Qualifier Token to Revengers each
- Four-way tie 5th: $5 and non-tradable Qualifier Token to Revengers each
- All other competitors will receive a non-tradable Qualifier Token to Revengers
Revengers Tournament
- Twice per week, one each on Saturday and Sunday, varying times
- 32-player tournaments, requires Qualifier Token from Daily Skirmish or Weekend Warriors
- Varying rulesets and requirements
- $2.50 entry fee
- All matches except the first round will be pre-sponsored and available for voting with Influence
Prizes:
- 1st: $20, 2x Submersian Chests, and 2x tradable Qualifier Token to Revenger’s Champion
- 2nd: $10, 1x Submersian Chest, and tradable Qualifier Token to Revenger’s Champion
- Two-way tie 3rd: $5 and tradable Qualifier Token to Revenger’s Champion each
Champion Tournament
- Once per month
- 16-player tournaments, requires Qualifier Token from Weekend Warriors
- One each of Level 10 No Limits, Level 10 Regular Summon Only, Level 10 Stat Limits, Level 20 No Limits, Level 20 Regular Summon Only, and Level 20 Stat Limits in a random order
- $20 entry fee
- All matches will be pre-sponsored and available for voting with Influence
Prizes:
- 1st: $1,000, 1x Coral Chest, 1x Gilded Chest, 1x Submersian Chest, and tradable Qualifier Token to All-Star
- 2nd: $400, 2x Gilded Chest, 2x Submersian Chest, and tradable Qualifier Token to All-Star
- Two-way tie 3rd: $150 and 1x Gilded Chest each
- Four-way tie 5th: $40 and 1x Submersian Chest each
- Eight-way tie 9th: $20 each
Revenger’s Champion
- Once every 6 weeks
- 32-player tournaments, requires Qualifier Token from Revengers
- One each of Level 10 No Limits, Level 10 Regular Summon Only, Level 20 No Limits, and Level 20 Regular Summon Only in a random order
- $20 entry fee
- All matches will be sponsored and available for voting with Influence
Prizes:
- 1st: $300, 1x Coral Chest, 1x Gilded Chest, 1x Submersian Chest, and tradable Qualifier Token to All-Star
- 2nd: $150, 2x Gilded Chests, and 2x Submersian Chests
- Two-way tie 3rd: $75 and 1x Gilded Chest each
- Four-way tie 5th: $40 and 1x Submersian Chest each
- Eight-way tie 9th: $20 each
All-Star
- One-time, at the end of the 6-month Submersian Grand Opening Series
- 16-player tournament, requires Qualifier Token from Champion Invitational or Revenger’s Champion
- No limits, all Heroes allowed
- $200 entry fee
- All matches will be pre-sponsored and available for voting with Influence
Prizes:
- 1st: $10,000 grand prize, Exclusive All-Star Accessory and All-Star Armors (one each Light, Medium, and Heavy), 1x Sunken Chest, 1x Coral Chest, 1x Gilded Chest, and 1x Submersian Chest
- 2nd: $4,000 and 1x Coral Chest
- Two–way tie 3rd: $1,500, 1x Gilded Chest, and 1x Submersian Chest each
- Four-way tie 5th: $400 and 1x Gilded Chest each
- Eight-way tie 9th: $200 and 1x Submersian Chest each

Gold Rush Open
- Once per week for 4 weeks
- 16-player tournament
- No limits, all Heroes allowed
- $20 entry fee PAID IN DFKGOLD tokens
- All matches will be pre-sponsored and available for voting with Influence
Prizes:
- 1st: $200, 2x Gilded Chests, 2x Submersian Chests, and tradable Qualifier Token to Champion Invitational
- 2nd: $80, 1x Gilded Chest, and tradable Qualifier Token to Champion Invitational
