Hello Kingdom!

Player vs Player Combat is out and available for everyone to play! Alongside the release of our private Bouts, a neat package of features is being released, so make sure to check out the brief(ish) overview below!

Getting Started

Our PvP mode is hosted in an exclusive region called the “Sundered Isles” on the Metis blockchain. To access the Colosseum, you can either select “Sundered Isles” in the bottom left menu, or manually add the Metis RPC and change your network within your wallet.

Network: Andromeda (Mainnet)

Chain ID: 1088

RPC Endpoint: https://andromeda.metis.io/?owner=1088

Currency Symbol: METIS

Explorer: https://andromeda-explorer.metis.io/

The Metis blockchain uses $METIS as the gas token, so in order to sign any transactions in the Sundered Isles your wallet needs to have some $METIS.

Bridge METIS

When bridging $JEWEL or other tokens to Metis via Synapse you will receive some $METIS dust that will be sufficient enough to swap for additional $METIS. In order to bridge liquidity, you can use our in-game interface or bridge directly via Synapse.

Send METIS

Alternatively, you can send $METIS directly to your wallet from any supported centralized exchange.

Purchase METIS

METIS tokens can also be purchased through a variety of centralized exchanges presented by Arron, the onboarding NPC in the Docks.

Once you have liquidity on Metis you can get $METIS or $JEWEL at our partner DEX Hercules: https://app.hercules.exchange/ .

NFT & Item Bridges

The bridging of Pets, Equipment, Items, etc. works in the same way as the bridging between Crystalvale (DFK Chain) and Serendale (Kaia), but with a new bridge contract powered by LayerZero’s V2 protocol. Bridging Heroes works similarly, but there are a couple of key differences.

First, Heroes bridged from Crystalvale or Serendale to the Sundered Isles must be returned to their previous realm before they can travel to another. This will be enforced in-game, so no need to track your realm of origins, we’ll stamp their passport.

Second, exclusive to the bridges from CV and SD to the Sundered Isles, we are introducing multi-Hero bridging! You can now send several Heroes in one bridge transaction, saving on bridging fees! The number of Heroes will depend on how heavily equipped they are. We are planning to bring this feature to other bridges in the future. Visit the Docks in your current realm to get started.

It is likely that the sudden burst of traffic will cause bridge delays. Please be patient as your Heroes, items, and tokens make the journey to the Sundered Isles, it is a safe journey but may take a little longer to get through the Customs and Immigrations line.

If you’re looking to track the status of bridged assets, you can use the following:
- Synapse (Tokens, NFTs between CV and SD): https://explorer.synapseprotocol.com/
- LayerZero (Items, NFTs to and from SUN): https://layerzeroscan.com/

What is New?

PvP Bouts

PvP Bouts allow you to select three Heroes to challenge another player for glory and potential rewards.

In order to set up a PvP Bout, head to the Registry Zone, talk to Johnny Whalestrom and select `Start Bout`. On the first screen, you can select the background, Battle Budget, and Shot Clock options.

The Shot Clock sets the time limit every player has to perform an action. After the Shot Clock duration passes, the enemy can trigger the penalty action in the top right corner of the screen. The penalty action type is set by the host during Bout creation, and the options are `Random Basic Attack`, `Random Ability and Target`, `Pass Turn`, `Pass Turn and Stun`; or the possibility to select no Shot Clock at all.

Players can choose additional settings by unfolding the Advanced Settings. Here they can set custom Bout restrictions like `Class Rank`, `Hero Rarity`, `Hero Level`, `Individual Stat Score (sum of all eight primary stats)`, `Team Stat Score`, `exclude classes`, `exclude summoning origins` (standard summoning/dark summoning), or select some unique settings like forbidding 3x same class teams, requiring the player to use only unique classes, or select Perilous Journey Heroes only. Those restrictions apply to both teams.

Once the settings are confirmed, on the next screen you can select your team, their skills, and the potions they will bring into battle in the same way as with Void Hunts.

On the third and last screen, you can select if your battle is open (anyone can join) or private (only a selected player can join, invited by 0x wallet address). Here you can also decide if you want to allow Voting and Sponsoring (more to that later). Additionally, the start time of the Bout can be selected, which has to be between 5 minutes and 72 hours in the future. If no player joins during that time, the Bout automatically expires and is removed. You can also add an option for both players to agree to start early (this is on by default).

Alternatively, you can join an open Bout by clicking on `Find Bouts`, also with Johnny Whalestrom. Once you select an open Bout, you can pick your Heroes, skills and potion loadouts and join the battle. You must follow the restrictions the Bout creator set.

As soon as a Bout has two combatants, a lobby is created where you can see the enemy team, the start time, and have the option to request an early start, if the Bout allows it. You are also able to change the skills of your Heroes until the Bout starts, but you are not able to see your enemy skill selection until the start of the Bout.

You can see all your open, pending, active and completed Bouts in the `Manage Bouts` menu.

Bannermen and Influence

This patch introduces the ability to pledge your Heroes as Bannermen to the city of Submersia. By pledging your Heroes you will be granted Influence. The longer you pledge your Heroes, up to a maximum of 180 days, the more Influence you get. The amount of Influence you receive is also determined by the Rarity, Class, Generation, and remaining Summons of your Hero. While Heroes are pledged, they passively earn 50 experience points / day. It is possible to break the pledge of a Hero before their service time is over, but doing so will cost a fee in $JEWEL depending on the Influence granted by the Hero and the remaining time.

Submersia rewards players that pledge their Heroes with $JEWEL earnings, depending on their share of Influence. For the information on how these rewards work, read on to the Fees and Fee Distribution section!

To allow everyone enough time to bridge and pledge their Heroes, rewards will be turned on 48 hours after launch.

Your total and remaining Influence can be seen at the Recruiter, or below your profile in the top left corner of the screen. Spent influence will be recharged every week on Thursday at 00:00 UTC. Spending Influence does not impact the passive rewards mentioned above, those rewards are distributed based on each player’s total Influence.

Vote or Sponsor a Bout

If the Bout creator enabled voting and sponsoring (on by default), players can spectate Bouts and vote on the outcome of a Bout by using their Influence. Additionally, Bouts can be sponsored with JEWEL by any user (up to 50 sponsors per Bout). After a sponsored Bout is concluded, the winner of the Bout will receive 10% of the sponsorship amount, whereas the remaining 90% are distributed to users who correctly voted on the outcome of the Bout, based on the Influence they used for voting.

Rewards from voting and winning sponsored Bouts can be claimed at the Recruiter or at the Bout overview.

Until the daily rewards are turned on, we are allocating 1000 JEWEL to additionally sponsor some random Bouts here and there, so keep an eye open and make sure to leave your Bouts sponsorable to have a chance at being selected!

Fees and Fee Distribution

Similar to our other realms, fees generated in the Sundered Isles will be distributed using our standard distribution model for JEWEL. However, unlike our other realms, there is no Quest Fund or Jeweler for fees to be distributed to. Instead, fees will be distributed to the Colosseum Fund and Colosseum Fee Collector contracts.

The Colosseum Fund can be likened to the Quest Fund on the other chains, however, rather than rewarding gardeners, the Colosseum Fund will distribute 0.2% of its balance to players with Influence once each day. We also have plans to use the Colosseum Fund to sponsor Bouts and tournaments, with more details to come on that front in the future. The Colosseum Fund is being seeded with ~$31,000 worth of JEWEL to start it off.

The Colosseum Fee collector can be likened to the Jeweler on the other chains, in that fees collected there are distributed to players with Influence once each day.

With this design, the Colosseum Fund should be considered as the long term reward system, and the Colosseum Fee Collector being the short term reward system. The remaining fees will be either distributed to the team’s Dev fund or burned, based on the fee schedule below:

Dev Fund: 50% of fees

Colosseum Fund: 30% of fees

Colosseum Fee Collector: 15% of fees

Burned: 5% of fees

Sources of fees at launch will be from the Bazaar, each of the player marketplaces for Heroes, Pets, and equipment, and fees for breaking Hero pledges early. In the future, tournament entry fees will also contribute to these systems.

Equipment Vendor

They already set up their workshop a few weeks ago in the Crystalvale Marketplace, but the Weaponsmith and Armorer have finally opened for business and offer a variety of weapons and armor to players. They offer various sets designed for various levels and Hero strengths, so make sure you pick suitable equipment for them. The equipment is purchasable with Gold, and similar to with the Item Vendor, if demand goes up (many players buying), so does the price of items, while then starting to decrease when demand slows. The decrease is accelerated for every 12 hours the item is not purchased.

The strongest equipment set available for sale, the Squire equipment, is the set your Heroes have been using until now when doing Void Hunts. Since the shop is now available, the Guild will no longer supply basic equipment to your Heroes, so make sure they are equipped before heading into battle!

As no equipment is provided anymore, the Hunter’s Guild also decided to remove the Gold costs associated with Void Hunts.

Currently, the Equipment Shop is only available in Crystalvale, but this equipment can be bridged and used in the Sundered Isles (on a Hero or separately).

What else is there to do in the Sundered Isles?

For this initial release, a few additional features are available at launch. Players can buy Heroes, Equipment and Pets in our player-to-player marketplaces similar to Crystalvale and Serendale, but using $JEWEL.

Additionally, to purchase much needed consumables like potions or other items, they can use the Bazaar at the Docks.

The Barkeep allows the sending of Heroes as well as accessing the Hero Catalog and shop.

Sharkules takes care of any bridging needs, be it Heroes, Equipment, Pets or Tokens. As we’ve alluded to before, the Hero bridge between Sundered Isles and Serendale, as well as the Hero bridge between Sundered Isles and Crystalvale, is powered by our partner LayerZero.

Final Notes

Patch 2.0.0 marks the start of our PvP game feature, and we have many exciting features lined up to launch on Sundered Isles — some familiar ones like the Meditation Circle, but also ones we haven’t mentioned yet that may or may not make use of your Influence Points, so this release is just the beginning.

The next major release is going to be DFK Tournaments with sponsored prize pools, with more information coming in the following weeks and months, but you may see some of these other features even sooner!

Our Smart Accounts, powered by Halliday, are set up on Metis, HOWEVER, these accounts can not yet bridge assets to Metis. We’re working on getting those set up as soon as possible, so keep an eye out for news.

And last but not least, a huge shout out to the many, many players that participated in the testing weekends and gave valuable feedback.
