Introducing The Validator Extension Token (VET) & Its Builders

The Validator Extension Token (VET)
Background:
Validators are the cornerstone of PoS blockchains. Proof of Stake blockchains simply wouldn’t function without them.
Validators are also one of the biggest supporters of the underlying chains they validate on, spending precious time & resources to support and grow these chains from testnet and well into mainnet.
The overwhelming majority of validators receive a bulk of their revenue from validation emissions + commission on staked assets rewards, with some also offering infrastructure/development services. Outside of these verticals, options for validators to grow in company size and revenue are currently limited.
The VET Template:
Introducing VETs (F.K.A. Staking dETF): One token to diversify across a validator’s portfolio, staked across all the chains that the validator validates on, or a combination of selected chains from that validator.
The token created is a native token itself. As a result, every VET created is tradable on any exchange or platform.
This means simple DEX listings for targeting retail users, and potentially CEX listings in order to meet institutional custodian needs.
You can even buy these directly from a validator’s website!
This is made possible via a widget in development that will allow for the direct purchase of created VETs. This will include an option to purchase VETs directly with fiat, further removing barriers to entry.

What does this mean for validators?
Validators can now earn additional revenue while increasing the value that they provide to stakers.
The purchaser of a VET would be instantly staked across a validator’s entire portfolio of chains they validate on, or a selection of chains that the creator of the VET chooses.
For example:
Let’s say that a validator is currently near the bottom of the active set for $ATOM, but is a top 5 validator on $OSMO.
This validator could run a VET that delegates 80% of staked funds into $ATOM and the other 20% into $OSMO.
In this scenario, the majority of staked assets will be counted towards their $ATOM node vs their $OSMO node. This is beneficial for this validator, since they are at much less risk of being removed from the $OSMO active set than the $ATOM active set, so they can prioritize increasing their position in the $ATOM active set while still increasing their $OSMO delegations, albeit at a lower amount.
Also, a VET is a perfect tool for a validator to provide clients with a liquid, rebalancing, and diversified asset without having to hamper their delegation AUM via undelegation. Holders of a VET can bridge the token(s) to dozens of ecosystems and/or sell on various DEXs, in turn widening validator exposure. Plus, it’s perfect for institutions that need to fit within certain risk mandates for Endowments, Foundations, etc.
What does this mean for retail users?
For retail users, this offers an easy & approachable way to stake your assets across a variety of PoS Blockchains in seconds.

This new asset is a game changer when it comes to passive investing in crypto. As a retail investor, you now have the ability to not only be exposed to a variety of assets via a single token, but can also earn compounded staking rewards from these chains as well.
