From the end of our Alpha phase to the start of a brand-new operation in preparation for beta, including new updates to existing features, we continue to build the game through September.
In case you missed it, here is an overview of all the latest happenings over the past month!
End of Operation Alpha
It has been a little over five months since we first launched the DEFY mobile app, introducing the game via Operation Alpha that consisted of 5 missions across 166 days.
A lot has changed over the months with the help of our Operatives helping to playtest the game in its earliest iteration. Thank you for all your feedback and suggestions, some of which that have led to the new features currently present in-game.
Start of Operation Cadre
While we prepare for our beta launch, with new gameplay mechanics actively being developed, a new Operation has commenced to act as a transitory phase between alpha and beta.
Operation Cadre involves missions that require players from different regions to work together, and all participating Operatives who fulfill the requirements by the end of the operation will receive a share of the $DEFY prize pool.
Requirements include:
- Possessing an Intel Operative Badge from the in-app Black Market
- Hacking at least 50 towers in total (of any security level)
- Taking down at least 25 drones in total (of either type)
Uprising Mask Minting Resumes
Our second-generation masks (the Uprising series) are now back and available for minting after the initial phase concluded on 23 July 2022.
While Phase 1 of the Uprising mint saw 20% of the total supply made available (2,000 of 10,000 masks) and fully minted within the first hour, the remaining 8,000 masks will follow a new minting system that limits the number of masks that can be minted in a given day. We have also introduced the ability for users to mint masks directly from the in-app black market (including utilising locked alpha rewards for it).

The bridging competition held from 23 August to 26 September has officially concluded and we have our winners!

Note: Using the bridge to transfer $DEFY from on-chain to in-game will continue to reward 1.5x the tokens bridged through the month of October.

Active In-Game Missions (Operation Cadre)
In addition to the individual requirements of 50 towers hacked, 25 drones destroyed and owning an Intel Operative Badge to be eligible for a share of the $DEFY pool rewards for Operation Cadre, players can contribute to increasing the total pool of rewards with their daily gameplay activities.
