Uprising Masks
The Uprising Masks are our second-generation masks created by our Lead Operative, zer0, as a follow up to the Genesis masks by kha0s in Q1 of 2022.
There are a total of 10,000 Uprising Masks available for mint, with 20% of them (2,000) having been minted thus far back in July.
Initial Uprising Mint Phase 1
The original schedule for our Uprising Masks mint was to follow a five-phase approach surrounding our upcoming alpha and beta missions. This began with Phase 1 of minting on 23 July 2022 prior to Alpha Mission 4, where 2,000 Uprising Masks were made available and fully minted within the first hour.
Phase 2 was originally scheduled to precede Beta Mission 1. However, changes were made to shorten the overall Beta phase from four missions to one while extending Alpha with an additional mission instead (Alpha Mission 5). Meanwhile, our developers worked on making it possible for players to mint a mask with a simple purchase in-app via the Black Market, which took longer than anticipated hence the Uprising mint resume midway through Alpha Mission 5 instead.
While we have previously communicated changes being made to the Uprising mint last month with an article indicating the updates, the aim of this article is to clarify and detail the new system in its own standalone article here. If you have read the aforementioned article, there have been no further changes made since.
Minting of New Uprising Masks
Following the launch of our token we have decided to make all future minting of masks exclusively via $DEFY only. In the case of the remaining 8,000 Uprising Masks, they will be made available for minting at 6,000 $DEFY each.
The new minting system aims to roll out masks progressively over a longer period of time to introduce new mask supply at a slower pace rather than aiming to fully mint out the collection within a matter of minutes like we did for the Genesis Masks previously.
Under the new system, a maximum of 60 new masks will be made available every 12 hours starting 6 September 2022 at 1200 UTC. This means there would be two windows daily at 0000 UTC and 1200 UTC.
Note:
- 10 of the 60 slots for each minting window will be reserved specifically for Tier 1 invite holders to mint on our website.
- The original holder of the Tier 1 invite will still receive a 50% commission (3,000 $DEFY) if the invite is used to mint a mask through the mint site.
- The remaining 50 slots in each minting window will be shared between minting via our website and minting in-app via the Black Market.
- Tier 1 invites cannot be used for in-app minting via the Black Market.
- Previous Tier 2 invites cannot be used for minting an Uprising Mask
Bonus $DEFY for Bridging Tokens
Users who bridge their $DEFY tokens from on-chain to in-game will receive 1.5x the tokens bridged up to a total rewards pool limit of 2,500,000 $DEFY.
Example: If you bridge 4,000 $DEFY from on-chain to in-game, you will be rewarded with 2,000 $DEFY as a bonus. This will enable Operatives who do not own an unused Tier 1 invite to take advantage of the 50% returns to benefit from a similar discount by minting in-app via the Black Market after bridging tokens over.
