Amy Vilardi: Arrested and charged with husband in 2015 quadruple murder of her own family

A couple from Pendleton, South Carolina have been arrested and charged in connection with a 2015 quadruple murder on Halloween night, according to a press release from the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO).

Amy and Rosmore (Ross) Vilardi have each been charged with four counts of murder, the ACSO says.

The small rural town was shaken to the core on Oct. 31, 2015 when 60-year-old Cathy Scott (Amy’s mother), 85-year-old Violet Taylor (Amy’s grandmother), 58-year-old Mike Scott (Amy’s stepfather), and 80-year-old Barbara Scott (Mike’s mother) were found dead in their homes. The ACSO states that they responded to a call at about 12:35 p.m. on Nov. 2, 2015 to the residence for what was originally a report of a possible shooting, only to find all four inhabitants deceased.

Sheriff Chad McBride said during a news conference on Dec. 15, 2023 that Amy Vilardi is the one who made the 911 call that day. Police discovered the victims had been shot and stabbed, according to an Associated Press (AP) report.

“I think we knew this day would come. I think we knew in the back of our mind, it was just you know, there’s a lot of pieces to have to put together and just a lot of hard work and effort,” McBride said, declining to…
