Ashley Jones: Charged with murder of mother’s husband days before mother mysteriously dies
A late September break and enter has led Jackson County, Indiana police to arresting a woman for the murder of her mother’s husband, according to a statement from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department (JCSD).
On Sept. 19, 2023, Marsha Allen reported a home burglary, the statement says. Fox59, citing the affidavit, reports that firearms and jewelry had been stolen.
The JCSD said that upon investigating, they found the burglary had been committed by two men, Steven White and Nathaniel Kane Napier, according to the statement. The two men revealed that they had been directed to commit the burglary, and were assisted by, Marsha’s daughter, 29-year-old Ashley Jones.
Steven White allegedly told police that Marsha had “murdered her husband by poisoning him somehow,” Fox59 says, quoting the affidavit.
The two men have been charged with burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, and theft when property stolen is a firearm, Fox59 says.
A search of Marsha’s phone revealed text messages between the mother and daughter containing discussions about murdering Marsha’s husband, Harold Allen, by poisoning him in December 2022, the statement says. This led police to executing a search warrant at Marsha’s home…
