Police have charged a Livonia, Michigan woman accused of setting fire to her ex-boyfriend’s home, resulting in the death of his disabled mother and injuries to two others, according to a statement from the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.

At 11:17 p.m. on June 3, 2024, a home in the 6000 block of Seminole Street in Detroit went up in flames, the statement says. Medics, the Detroit Fire Department (DFD) and the Hamtramck Fire Department (HFD) responded and extinguished the fire. They pronounced 53-year-old Tina Dorrough dead at the scene, while two surviving victims, a 57-year old man and a 65-year old woman, went to the hospital to be treated.

Dorrough’s son wasn’t home at the time of the fire, the statement says. Police arrested 31-year old Cinamon Charmaine Rigmaiden for the arson and murder, saying that Dorrough’s son is Rigmaiden’s ex-boyfriend. Rigmaiden had recently broken up with him, but police allege she poured an accelerant on the front porch of his mother’s home and set it on fire before fleeing.

“She wanted to make her ex-boyfriend ‘feel her pain,’ which she was able to do,” Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Teana Livingston said during a bond hearing, according to the Lexington Herald Leader.
