Four months after his wife was convicted and sentenced for helping him murder his sister in Norman, Oklahoma, Octavio Sanchez will now spend the rest of his life behind bars for his part in the crime.

His sister, 18-year-old Margarita Sandoval, who had cognitive disabilities, moved in with Octavio and his wife, Desiree, in 2018. After February 2018, there was no trace of the young woman, according to the arrest affidavit.

Her family wouldn’t get any answers until 2021, when the landlord of the home where the Sanchezes resided tipped off the Norman Police Department (NPD) that they were possibly hiding a body in their basement, the affidavit says.

Prosecutors said the couple kept raking in the cash long after Margarita was dead. Margarita spent those three years, dead in a box, hidden from the world.

Desiree was convicted in Nov. 2023 of first-degree murder and unlawful removal of a body, and sentenced to life in prison…
