After three and a half hours of deliberations, a jury convicted former yoga instructor Kaitlin Armstrong for the murder of pro-cyclist Anna “Mo” Wilson in May 2022 in Austin, Texas, according to CBS Austin.

CBS described the courtroom after the verdict was read. Wilson’s family was overcome with emotion, hugging and crying softly. Meanwhile, Armstrong faced forward and showed no emotion while listening to her fate as decided by 12 jurors. Wilson’s parents and brother have attended the trial from the start, as has Wilson’s friend, Caitlin Cash.

Cash testified previously to returning to her home on the night of May 11, 2022, to find Wilson dead on the bathroom floor, the Austin American-Statesman says. Wilson stayed with Cash in Austin to participate in a cycling race. Part of the evidence shown by the prosecution was the 911 call Cash made while performing CPR on Wilson.

Armstrong’s sister, Christie, also became visibly emotion when the verdict was read, CBS says. Kaitlin’s defense attorney had to escort Christie from the courtroom.

Wilson was rumored to be having an affair with Armstrong’s boyfriend, Colin Strickland, according to a criminal affidavit. Wilson and Strickland were both pro-cyclists, and met while Strickland and Armstrong had broken up for a few weeks. Strickland got back together with Armstrong, but allegedly continued the affair with Wilson.
