The Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) in Florida has announced the arrest of a 36-year-old woman accused of beating her adopted son to death earlier this month.

Patricia Boyer Saintizaire has been charged with first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, and tampering with a witness, the PCSO says.

On May 2, 2024, Polk County police responded to call from Orlando Health regarding a 4-year-old boy who died under suspicious circumstances, according to a report from the Ledger. Sheriff Grady Judd, of the PCSO, said during a news conference that an autopsy revealed blunt force trauma on the boy’s body, injuries both old and new.

“We found an injury where his spleen suffered a significant tear. The medical examiner said it could have been nothing else other than an immediate hard strike to the abdomen,” Judd said. “And as the autopsy went on, they found different layers of bruises and injuries from past beatings. And he’s dead. He’s dead because she beat him to death.”

Judd also discussed two videos police found on Saintizaire’s phone which allegedly show her abusing her son, Bryan Boyer.
