Sakari Harnden: She and professional basketball player boyfriend arrested for murder of missing woman
A former professional basketball player and his girlfriend have been arrested and charged in connection with the disappearance and death of a woman reported missing on Dec. 7, 2023, according to a press release from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD).
Marayna Rodgers, 23, was out with friends on the night of Dec. 7, though left her group for a pre-arranged meeting with Sakari Harnden, 19, and her boyfriend, 27-year-old Chance Comanche, the LVMPD said in an arrest release, obtained by the Las Vegas Review-Journal (LVRJ). She was last seen at about 1 a.m. Rodgers and Hamden were supposedly friends.
However, two days later, two people, who remain unnamed, walked into the LVMPD station at about 3:32 p.m. to report Rodgers missing, the LVMPD statement says. Detectives learned that Rodgers was supposed to meet Harnden and Comanche the night she vanished.
The arrest report notes that Harnden had filed a missing person report on Rodgers the day before.
According to Rodgers’ boyfriend, named only as Tremaine, he and Rodgers were in Las Vegas the weekend of Dec. 1 “with the intent to engage in prostitution,” the arrest report says.
