Verity Beck: Daughter accused of murdering and dismembering her parents for no apparent motive

When Justin Beck arrived at his parents’ home on Jan. 17, 2023, he intended to check up on them as he hadn’t seen or heard from them in a week — but he instead encountered a grizzly and unfathomable scene, according to a CBS report.

A statement from the Montgomery County District Attorney’s office alleged that 49-year-old Verity Beck, from Norristown, Pennsylvania, shot her parents in the head and then attempted to dismember them with a chain saw.

Justin became concerned about his parents, 73-year-old Reid Beck and 72-year-old Miriam Beck, later telling police he usually communicated with his mother daily via phone calls or text messages, Law and Crime says. He hadn’t spoken to them since Jan. 7, 2023, except for through text messages with no voice contact. He told police he’d also been in touch with his sister via text messages during that time.

He drove by his parents’ house that night, allegedly observing that his parents’ vehicles were parked outside, but the lights inside the home were off, Law and Crime says. Justin told police he decided to return to his house to get soup for his sister, who had been sick and also lived with their parents.

Law and Crime cites the criminal complaint in describing the scene Justin came upon when he entered the house: a body beneath a bloodstained white sheet. He called out for his sister, who entered the living room.
