A conviction has come down for a Russian woman accused of poisoning her look-a-like beautician’s cheesecake in an attempt to rob her and steal her identity, according to a statement by Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz.

Katz writes that 47-year-old Viktoria Nasyrova has been convicted of attempted murder in the second degree, attempted assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree, unlawful imprisonment in the first degree and petit larceny.

People Magazine reports that the women met in 2016 when Nasyrova became a returning client at the salon of victim Olga Tsvyk, an eyelash stylist from Ukraine.

The evidence alleges that Nasyrova visited the surviving victim on August 28, 2016. On Jan. 30, 2023, Tsvyk testified in court that Nasyrova called her that night, claiming she had an eyelash emergency she needed amended, and that she was bringing cheesecake, according to a People report.

“She told me, ‘I’m right now in Brooklyn. I want to bring you some famous cheesecake from a famous bakery.’ I told her, Viktoria, that’s not needed, just come over,” Tsvyk said.

When she did go over, Nasyrova had three slices of cheesecake, two of which she ate, People says. She left the third for Tsvyk, who became ill about 20 minutes after eating it. Tsvyk described those minutes to the court.
