NFTs is a trending topic in 2021, but there are still a lot of questions — especially from creators — about how it works and how to make the most of it. The DEIP team ran a workshop for artists, creators and authors aimed at helping create and sell their first NFT.

Lisbon is a city full of creators, attracting people from all over the world with its charm, affordable prices, and vibrant inspiring vibe. Bowls&bar, where the event was held, got packed pretty quick.

Alexandra Luzan, a Ph.D in Art&Tech and an expert in international PR and Communications, talked the audience through the history of art and how it evolved with the development of technology. Alex Shkor, founder of DEIP, highlighted the value that blockchain provides for the creator economy and walked the audience through how to create their first NFT.

“We aim to support creators and arm them with technologies so they receive a fair share of the value of their works. It’s been a great pleasure to meet these people in person, discuss the problems they are facing when selling their art and share the knowledge we have. We can already foresee a future when all resources other than intellectual human capital will be commodities, while the margin of intangible assets will only increase. This workshop has been full of insights that help us navigate during this journey” noted Alex Shkor.

“I loved the workshop. The atmosphere was great and it was amazing to catch up with like-minded people. I’ve tried to create an NFT to sell my artworks before, however, I faced some technical issues. I was able to ask questions and now It all seems clear. NFT is the future and I feel I should use this opportunity,” commented Anna Rolskaya, an artist based in Lisbon.
