On June 3, 2022, DEIP officially opened DEIP Metaverse City, the first virtual city built by creators, meta-architects, and 3D artists. DEIP Metaverse City built on Arhead Metaverse allows creators from all over the world to unite in the virtual world, facilitate the transition to the Web3 using DEIP technologies, and shift towards a decentralized platform. Here, all participants can find the necessary tools to create businesses and control ownership of their assets and decide how to monetize them.

DEIP Metaverse City is a totally unique space designed to reflect the mission of DEIP and its brand identity. The city was created by the leading teams of ARHEAD Metaverse ecosystem, BALAGAN creative agency and ATRIUM architectural studio. In collaboration with DEIP, they have worked to recreate the image of the company in virtual architecture, designing everything from buttons to buildings and squares, while integrating branding and color palette in textures and lighting. The architects started by building the functional-spatial structure of the city, defining its scale, and creating the visuals of these spaces to give the right atmosphere and provoke emotions. As a result, a sequence of five totally different typologies was created: a three storey high exhibition space, a boulevard, a maze-like environment of many intersecting streets, tunnels, and a square with an amphitheater.

“We like to create lively, visually diverse environments, where the city unexpectedly unfolds to the viewer and we have implemented these qualities in our project. Of course, we had much more flexibility compared to working in the physical realm. Overall we’ve managed to bring together different kinds of urban spaces that visitors might find in some cities. The exciting spatial experience that you can find walking around Rome all day is packed into a 15-minute walk in a virtual setup,” ATRIUM architectural studio stated.

In the DEIP Metaverse City guests are able to walk around enjoying digital sculptures, interactive storyboards and labyrinths. One of the main attractions of the city is the limited edition “Balloon Dog (Blue)”, the first artwork officially presented in the virtual city in collaboration with renowned e-commerce gallery, Weng Contemporary. Converting a porcelain sculpture into a phygital one, creators used photogrammetry: the technology of extracting 3D information from photographs. The process involved taking overlapping photographs of an object, structure or space, and converting them into 2D or 3D digital models.

“DEIP is building the core infrastructure for the easy transition to Web3. It was important for us to open the space where creators could meet each other, collaborate, learn more about the latest technological developments, and move towards the decentralized creator economy. DEIP Metaverse city is a great example of a project that has become a meeting point for talented creative minds. Already during the first day the city was visited by representatives of Metapurse, Centre Pompidou, Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini, Mubert, and many others. This is just a beginning,” said Alex Shkor, CEO and co-founder of DEIP.
