Desde que tengo memoria, he viajado. Muchas veces sin móvil, ni cámara y siempre con una guía a modo de Biblia — tanto por su contenido como por su peso — mis orígenes algo confusos hicieron que de peque ya tuviera alma lectora y viajera. El primer viaje fue con dos años a Colombia y de ahí, he visitado muchos países.
Since I can remember, I have traveled. Many times without cell phone, camera and always with a guide as a Bible - for its content and for its weight. My first trip when I was two years old to Colombia and from there on, I have visited many countries.
El viaje que me cambió la vida lo hice a Camboya. Sola. Cogí un billete de ida y a partir de ahí, recorrí muchas partes de Asia, entre ellas:

Bali es uno de esos destinos perfectos para viajar sola/o pero finalmente, el destino me trajo a dos compañeras de viaje magníficas: mi hermana Cris, y Laura, una loca de los viajes que siempre se apunta a un bombardeo.
Así que las tres solas escogimos este lugar de Asia para nuestras aventuras. Tengo que decir que en Bali hay varios tipos de viajeros: los lunamieleros, los surferos y los backpackeros. Bueno, y ahora cada vez más, los yoguis.
Bali is one of those destinations that are perfect to travel alone, but destiny brought me two magnificent travel companions: my sister Cris, and Laura, a crazy traveler who always joins all crazy trips.So, the three of us chose this place in Asia for our adventures. I have to say that in Bali there are several types of travelers: the honeymooners, the surfers and the backpackers. Well, and now more and more, the yogis.
Yo os hablaré de cómo recorrí Bali en quince días— más o menos — y de las cosas que me parecieron interesante y las que no. Obviamente hay millones de blogs de viajes interesantísimos, pero bueno, esto va a ser un recopilatorio — por fin — de parte de mi vida viajera que quizás a algún curioso, le dé por leer. Porque lo de escribir un libro, tener un hijo y plantar un árbol aún no está pendiente así que empezaré con escribir sobre lo que más me gusta: ¡viajaaaar!
I will tell you about how I toured Bali in 15 days - more or less - and about the things that I found interesting and those that I did not. Si te gusta Lloret y Benidorm, Kuta es tu lugar, si no, ¡sal corriendo a lo Flash! Además de ser algo feúcha, Kuta es de lo más turística. Las tres Marías tuvimos la mala suerte de caer en un lugar caluroso y horrible llamado The Bed Bunkers. No vayáis a no ser que seáis backpackeros y tengáis menos dinero en el bolsillo que un estudiante de primero de carrera.

If you like Lloret and Benidorm, Kuta is your place, if not, run as far as you can! In addition to not being a superattractive city, Kuta is also very touristy. The three of us had the bad luck to fall in a hot and horrible place called The Bed Bunkers. Do not go unless you are a backpacker with less money in your pocket than a first-year uni student.

Si estás soltera/o ó viajas sola/o no es un mal lugar para ir y conocer gente viajando. Os recomiendo, aunque sea solo para verlo, Cocoon Beach Club en Jalan. Nosotras preferimos coger un taxi y olvidarnos de Kuta para quedarnos en este lado de la ciudad. Plántate tus mejores galas, ponte algo de perfume porque este lugar promete. Con vistas al mar, y piscina, es el garito perfecto para bailotear, tomarse un cóctel y disfrutar del lugar de moda. De ahí, puedes ir a otros bares cercanos si quieres seguir la fiesta.
If you are single or traveling alone, this is not a bad place to go and meet people traveling. I recommend, only to see it, Cocoon Beach Club in Jalan. We preferred to take a taxi, forget going to Kuta's city center and stay on the other side of the city. Put your best clothes and some perfume on, because this place promises. The sea next to you, and a swimming pool, this is the perfect spot to dance, have a cocktail and enjoy from a fashionable place. From there, you can go to other nearby bars if you want to continue the party.Además, si te quedas en Seminyak hay un montón de playas bonitas dónde puedes aprender surf y escuelas dónde enseñan el arte de coger olas.

El lugar más verde y bonito de Bali. No soy de recomendaciones de sitios ya que generalmente voy viviendo al día cuando viajo pero, si buscas alojamiento en Bali, Bayu Guesthouse te gustará porque tiene las 3B’s: bueno, bonito y barato. Además, la chica acababa de abrir cuando fuimos y nos trató como reinas.
Ubud is the greenest and most beautiful place in Bali. I don't usually recommend hotels when I travel but, if you are looking for accommodation in Bali, Bayu Guest House is perfect because it has these 3 things: it's confortable, nice and cheap. Also, the owner had just opened when we went and treated us like queens.
En Ubud, os recomiendo callejear un poco y visitar algunos de los lugares de interés que tiene Bali como el Monkey Forest o el Purta Tirta Empul.

Tirta Empul es uno de los templos más visitados en Bali; se encuentra en Tampak Siring, a unos 10 km del centro de Ubud y fue declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO en el año 2012. Es precioso y te puedes bañar…a no ser que tengas el período — regla para los amigos — Te recomiendo que lleves un pareo porque en bikini no está permitido bañarse.
Tirta Empul is one of the most visited temples in Bali; It is located in Tampak Siring, about 10 km from Ubud's city center and was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2012. It is beautiful and you can take a bath ... unless you have the period. I recommend you wear a sarong because bikini is not allowed.
Vale la pena verlo porque es precioso y siempre con mucho cuidado de no herir sensibilidades con lo que te comento en este párrafo. Respeta la cultura local aunque a veces parezca algo extraño y haz como dicen las abuelas, “donde fueres, haz lo que vieres”.
It is worth seeing it because it's beautiful. Be very careful not to hurt sensibilities and do as your grandmothers says, "wherever you go, do what you see"
Volcán Batur de Bali (Kintamani)
Esta es otra de las excursiones que seguro que te aparecerán en las agencias de viaje. Se trata de un trekking (caminata) para madrugadores — empieza a las 2 am — y consiste en subir una montaña para ver el amanecer.
This is another of the excursions that we made: a trekking (hike) for early risers - it starts at 2 am - and consists of climbing a mountain to see the sunrise from Batur volcano.
¡Ojo! Pregunta y mira el tiempo, si llueve o hay niebla es posible que no veas nada de nada y obviamente, eso no te lo dicen hasta que llegas y lo único que ves es la imagen del café que te quieres tomar. También hace algo de frío y necesitarás agua y linternas porque caminarás de noche all the rat.

Como buenas princesas, después de semejante madrugón sin ver nada, nos fuimos de SPA. Es otra de las cosas increíbles que puedes aprovechar en Bali. Hay muchísimos centros de belleza geniales que te hacen baños de flores y en los que te puedes relajar y pensar en lo dura que es la vida. ¡Spamorirse de gusto!
Like good princesses, after such an early morning without seeing anything, we went to a SPA. It's another incredible thing you can do in Bali. There are many and great beauty centers that will make you flower baths and where you can relax and think about how hard life is. Amazing!También puedes hacer rafting en Bali. Desde el hotel reservamos uno por el río y ves cosas que por tierra no podrías, otra de las cosas interesantes es ver los bailes balineses y ver lugares como el Peliatan Royal Palace, que vale muchísimo la pena.
You can also go rafting in Bali. From the hotel we booked one by the river. By water you can see things you could not see walking in land, another of the interesting things to see are the Balinese dances and places like the Peliatan Royal Palace, which is really worth it to visit.Las playas de Bali más bonitas
Si no tenéis miedo, podéis alquilar una moto en Bali. Pero obviamente, ¡llevar un seguro de viaje! Yo suelo llevar ASSIST CARD, es uno de los mejores (que conste que esto es opinión personal fruto de la experiencia de las millones de pálidas, bajonas y cosas asquerosillas que me han pasado en mi vida viajera). La moto os permitirá ir por las mejores playas de Bali sin tener que pensar mucho en el transporte.

If you are not afraid, you can rent a motorbike in Bali. But obviously, take a travel insurance! Pregunta siempre a los surferos, ellos sabrán guiarte y cómo última recomendación si buscas fiesta: El Single Fin Bali y el Blue Heaven son dos de los lugares con más guapos y guapas por metro cuadrado del universo.
