Sorry to disappoint but I didn’t get inside this place (only discovered it in passing and my timing was off) but I thought what a great find in downtown Reading. If you’re going to Reading, check it out!

This is what Wikipedia has to say: a community art and cultural resource center located in Reading, Pa. The mission of the GoggleWorks is “to nurture the arts, foster creativity, promote education and enrich the community.”

The building it’s housed in is the rehabbed former Willson Goggle Factory, which is on the National Registry of Historic Places.

Here’s the site: https://goggleworks.org

In addition to art exhibits, there are classes year-round like these: ceramics, hot glass, warm glass, metalsmithing, jewelry making, welding.

I want to sign up right now!

There’s also cinema and a cafe called “Belly.” It looks like every Wednesday they have a campus tour.

Next time, I’m making a point of getting to see the inside.
