To all of our customers, partners, and stakeholders,

The past weeks have presented some interesting challenges for all of us here at Deliver Addis (multi-day internet blackouts being one) and we were so humbled to hear from those of you that were able to reach out to see how we’re faring. In over four years of operating we’ve never seen so many existential challenges within such a short period of time and we certainly appreciate the patience that so many of you have shown as we weather through these times.

Last week, news regarding a ban on most motorbikes and other forms of two-wheeled transport in Addis Ababa was circulated through local and international media outlets. While the expected enforcement date was scheduled to begin on July 7, 2019, law enforcement officials have already begun seizing motorbikes in multiple areas around the city and we’ve suspended operations for the safety of our drivers until more details regarding the new legislation are made available.

We are currently working with government partners and related entities to ensure compliance with the new regulations and obtain exemptions where necessary but the coming days and perhaps weeks will likely be bumpy and we apologize in advance for the unavoidable interruptions in service.

We look forward to seeing all of you again as soon as possible and we appreciate your patience during these times.

All the best from the Deliver Addis team,
Feleg Tsegaye
