This one has been a long time coming. We’ve known for ages that we needed to ship an alcohol-free choice along with our craft beers. Not everyone drinks, and by not offering something non-alcoholic, we’ve been excluding those people for too long.

We’ve sourced soft drinks pretty regularly for events and whatnot over the last few years, but we never nailed down a product offering for the website. After some deliberation, we decided enough was enough. The world of soft drinks is as expansive and exciting as beer, if not more so. From kombucha to Club Mate, health-drinks to caffeine-kicks, the plethora of options is huge. This paradox of choice is partly what prevented us from putting together something sooner.

But when we really sat down and thought about it, chatted with our customers about what they want, and worked with suppliers to find out what is both popular and available, parallels with our bread-and-butter craft beer offering started to emerge.

For our soft drinks product, we wanted to offer something classic, yet craft. That meant eschewing the big C and finding some brands that conveyed the “craft” ethos we were looking for. It also meant, initially, cutting down the scope to colas and lemonades (a la lagers and pale ales), as well as other “crowdpleaser” styles of drink we felt would provide a little excitement. Our research lead us to Karma Cola, Fentimans, Dalston’s and Fritz initially, but rest assured we’ll be onboarding more brands real soon.

Customers receiving our craft beer box will notice the similarity — each soft drinks box will contain 3 styles from one of the above producers, and 12 drinks in total. Our box-picking algorithm will take care of rotating customers through the available selection, taking into account your preferences as it does so. The goal, we hope, is a special selection of different soft drinks every week, on par with the craft beer we’re known for. Finally, something for everybody.
