Next Day is the new Friday
We recently shipped a new feature on DeskBeers — one I’m very excited about. The feature has been a long time coming. It’s Next Day Delivery.
Next Day Delivery paves the way for a whole host of exciting new ways to use DeskBeers. Some things you can do right now with this feature:
- Get the beers in for an employee’s birthday.
- Order beer for tomorrow’s team soirée.
- Thank a customer or a supplier for a job well done.
A well-timed box of quality beer is a wonderful thing, and Next Day Delivery is the first step in enabling this kind of time-sensitive interaction.
We’re not stopping at simply delivering beer the day after you order it, though. Our immediate roadmap is focused on gifting and events. Things like adding a personal note will make sending DeskBeers as a meaningful gift incredibly easy. Adding ice, soft drinks and other extras will mean getting the drinks ready for your event can all be done in just a few clicks.
Next Day Delivery enables other improvements, too. On the horizon we’ll see more flexible subscriptions (we know some of you would prefer a regular Thursday delivery, for example) and pushing back the cutoff time — the goal is to leave it as late as possible for you to order a delivery for tomorrow.
But we’re really excited to see what use-cases our customers come up with. We’re already doing some pretty cool things with Next Day Delivery. Bespoke, customised DeskBeers boxes for companies wanting to get someone’s attention is a good example. We’ll continue to look closely at how customers use our service and try to make it as easy as possible for you to get things done. As of right now, DeskBeers delivers any workday if ordered before noon the preceding workday. This represents a huge step forward for us both operationally and as a product. Adam P, Simon Reed and our courier partners all worked really hard to get Next Day Delivery out the door. They have managed to reduce our fulfilment cycle from a week to around 12 hours. No mean feat, I think you’ll agree.
