The DeskBeers New London Breweries box
DeskBeers’ latest Craft Beer Box is a celebration of three exciting new breweries all based in the Capital: Hop King, Pillars, and Tidal. At a time when craft breweries are being snapped up by mega corporations, we think it’s important to help keep the independent spirit alive.
We’ve had our eye on these breweries for a while now, but had to find a way to incorporate their excellent, yet currently limited, ranges into one of our usual “showcase” brewery boxes. And then the lightbulb moment: why not put them together and get these brand new beers out to DeskBeers customers hot off the press, or cold off the… whatever the beer equivalent of that expression is.

Tidal — Tidal Pale Ale (5.1%)
Based in southwest London, Tidal’s remit is simply to brew seriously drinkable beer. Their flagship brew, Tidal Pale Ale, is a first rate example of the style, with a twin hit of blueberry and grapefruit on the nose, and plenty of citrus in the big, bitter, juicy taste. A straight-up, crushable pale from the banks of the Thames.
Pillars — Rebell Helles (4.8%)
Walthamstow’s Pillars are proud to be a lager-only brewery, moving lager brewing forward with the latest techniques and tricks from the craft beer community. Rebell Helles is a distinctive lager brewed in the Helles style, and boosted with an array of New World hops. A malty and moreish flavour profile makes this one perfect for easy afternoon or easy drinking.
Hop King — Hop King Pale Ale (4.2%)
When worlds collide. It was only a matter of time before London’s craft beer subculture gave rise to a brewery/skate brand crossover. Hop King bring the noise with their signature filtered pale ale, a heavy metal winner in flavour terms, but a beer whose light body means it makes for perfect session drinking. Beer and skating have always been blood brothers, and Hop King have really pinned the tail on the donkey with this delicious effort.
