salespeople ruin everything

I’m convinced that no matter what the channel, we will see bad templates and poorly designed personalization. I think the less focus on scaling volume in “touches” and the more focus on scaling connections the better off we’ll be.

Gary says, marketers ruin everything. Sales is usually on the heels, although not quickly. Bad Business Development Rep management is leading to terrible uses of kitschy breakup emails and basic stuff Aaron Ross wrote about years ago.

What channel will bad sales reps ruin next?

I think it only doesn’t matter if you work your network and seek to build a community or audience as you are doing here, Ali. Building trust prior to the sales conversation removes the need for a cold and awkward “connect” stage.

Could it be that all we need to do is think about the other person a little more and how they might be receiving our messages? I think if we applied the Golden Rule to our prospecting, we’d make for much nicer people.
