How We Created New Revenue Opportunities in Our Quick Commerce Search Experience with 4 Features

As a Search Experience team responsible for search experience in a quick commerce application, we have witnessed how important it is to provide users with a seamless and satisfying search experience. Over time, we have been able to improve our search results pages by implementing innovative features that not only enhance user engagement and conversion rates but also create new revenue opportunities for our platform and partner shops.

Users’ search experience can be divided into two parts: nested search and shop detail page search results. The nested search is a page that users see when they search for a product or a shop or brand without selecting a specific shop. The dmart or shop detail page search result is a page that users see when they select a specific shop and search for a product or a brand.

We have been able to create new revenue opportunities with 2 features that we have implemented in our nested search results pages and 2 features in dmart or shop detail search result page.

1- Boosting Sponsored Products in Nested Search Results:

To create new revenue opportunities for our platform and partner shops, we have implemented a feature that displays sponsored products in nested search results. When users search for a product or a shop or a brand, they will see featured tags for sponsored products. These sponsored products are not only boosted based on highest ad bidder but also personalized per user, which ensures user experience is not impacted or hampered. Moreover, this feature not only increases user engagement and click-through rates but also creates new revenue opportunities for shops by offering them the option to sponsor their products and display them with featured tags.

By charging shops for this sponsorship feature, we are able to generate additional revenue streams for our platform. At the same time, shops are able to attract more users to their products and increase their sales.

2- Boosting Sponsored Shops in Nested Search Results:

Another feature that we have implemented in nested search results is the ability to boost sponsored shops and display featured tags for them. By offering shops the option to sponsor their shops and display them with featured tags, we are able to create new revenue opportunities for our platform. Shops can attract more users to their products and increase their sales, while we generate additional revenue streams by charging shops for this sponsorship feature.

3- Deeplink for Dmart Search Result Page:

Dmarts (also known as cloud stores) are strategically located in densely populated areas. Each store has several thousand items in stock and inventories are constantly being adjusted based on data insights and customer feedback. To increase user engagement and retention, we have implemented a feature that navigates users to search results for specific search queries. Users can find products that are relevant to their needs, increasing their satisfaction and loyalty.

By partnering with brands to promote their products through these push notifications, we create new revenue opportunities for our platform. Brands are able to reach a more targeted audience, and users have access to products that meet their specific needs and interests. This feature increases the value proposition of our platform and generates additional revenue streams.

4- Deeplink for Inside Shop Search Result Page:

In our platform, we list local stores such as supermarkets, greengrocers, butchers, fishmongers, and pet shops and we deliver household goods to customers’ doors in less than half an hour, and in many cases much faster.(https://www.deliveryhero.com/blog/quick-commerce/)

With the objective of enhancing user retention, we have implemented a feature that navigates users to search results for specific search queries.

By partnering with shops to promote their products via these push notifications, we create new revenue opportunities for our platform. This approach enables shops to access a more focused audience, while users are able to access to products aligned with their needs and preferences. This feature increases the value proposition of our platform and generates additional revenue streams.

In conclusion, by prioritizing user satisfaction and improving our search experience with our features, we have been able to create new revenue opportunities for our platform and partner shops. Our four features: displaying sponsored products in nested search results, boosting sponsored shops in nested search results, and deeplink navigation for not only dmart but also shop search results increase user engagement and conversion rates by generating additional revenue streams for our platform. As we continue to improve our search experience and offer new features, we look forward to creating even more revenue opportunities and enhancing the value proposition of our platform for both our users and partner shops and brands.
