Week Notes — February 2022, Week 1

And breathe. Take time. Think wider and be inspired.

It feels self indulgent doesn't it?

But I know moments like this help me travel further in the long-run. And that is exactly what I’ve done this week on the CAST Open Working course.

I’m embarking on a journey of exploring what opportunities lie in the digital realm for charity fundraising.

Join me.

Strap in. It could be a bumpy ride. I've got no idea where this is going. But I do know I’ll be Working Openly — so we’re in this together.

Good things

I’ve looked up, and considered: How do I communicate? How can I grow my own working knowledge and contribute to enriching the working practices of others around me.

Difficulties

Starting. Hands down the most difficult thing. Getting past the point of thinking ‘is what I’m saying good enough?’ and just doing. Embracing my own vulnerabilities. Being brave enough to put something out there in the raw. It goes against my nature of wanting to have something well polished to publish. But without rawness, and willingness to publish in ‘alfa’ or test mode — there is little room for richness of conversation and ultimately Open Working.

Achievements

This article. Seriously. This is the biggest stride in the direction of Open Working I've made and by virtue of that, it’s my achievement this week. It’s an opening to explore a new chasm of communication and knowledge exploration, which to me is like water to a sponge.

Learned things

On this journey into the digital realm for charity fundraising, I’ll be sharing what I’m learning on the way, through my weekly notes — and who knows what other forms of communication.

As for this week the TLDR is: Stay open, be inspired and build faster and stronger as a community.
