Opening in Palma this March: Hotel Es Princep
Privately owned by a Mallorcan family, their intention is to introduce guests to a unique Mallorcan lifestyle. This concept is underscored throughout the entire hotel and is found in the décor, architecture and atmosphere, but it’s the lifestyle of living on this exceptional island that they wish for guests to experience in a very authentic way. The hotel is run by German manager Ilka Karl.
The position of Es Princep is formidable — sitting on a prominent corner directly atop the Baluard in the Calatrava neighborhood — the historic center of Palma. Floor to ceiling windows allow sunlight to flood guest rooms and the elevated position offers views of the city and the sea.
In the hotels’s restaurant Bala Roja, award-winning Chef Andreu Genestra, has a love affair with the local cuisine. He combines tradition with innovation creating a culinary odyssey to remember. Genestra is also a favorite of the locals, who enjoy Mallorcan gourmet artistry. Tying in the history of the areas, Bala Roja translates to Red Bullet — or the cannons that were used to protect the city from invaders. Those days are in the past — everyone is welcome today!
