In a lot of studies, it’s helpful to be able to sort your data according to demographics or descriptors of participants.

For example, you might find that tech savvy participants experience your onboarding differently than people who are tech averse. Or you might be wondering how the educational background of a participant impacts their career success later in life.

Finding trends based off participant descriptors

I used to keep track of this descriptor information in my head. Researchers we spoke to who use traditional qualitative analysis software, said that setting up case classifications to input demographics was too cumbersome, and often just skipped inputting this step. This meant that they might miss a major trend in their research.

Easily input participant descriptors with Delve

With Delve, we made it simple to attach participant descriptors to your transcripts. Each transcript has a “Participant Information” tab where you can create custom descriptor categories that remain persistent across all interviews.

Filter your excerpts according to participant descriptors

Once you’ve assigned descriptors, you can filter your excerpts by those them. This would enable you to divide and see different sets of your data according to the descriptors that matter to your research.

Delve can help you organize your research, and find stronger insights.
