DeNet July Highlights

July proved to be yet another exceptionally productive month of 2024, packed with significant updates and milestones that demand your attention. Here is an overview for your convenience:

• Opened storage deposits reached 8.5 PB (including 6.5 PB from the Store&Earn program);
• Celebrated DeNet’s 7th anniversary;
• A sum of 17 TBY was distributed to active community members;
• Marked a major milestone with over 12 million files stored.

Service updates

• DeNet Storage Major Update

DeNet Storage underwent a major update. The latest version, 2.0.0, brought a multitude of enhancements, optimized code, numerous UI improvements, and elevated the app to a whole new level.

Improvements included:

• Improved root hash calculation speed by 10%;
• Optimization of GRPC queries;
• Optimized File System synchronization;
• Increased stability of basic operations;
• Resolved purchase screen errors.

• DeNode v1.5.0 release

We updated DeNode based on our Datakeepers’ feedback, contributing greatly to stability improvement. Enhancements included:

• New mechanics of File System synchronization;
• Improved background replication;
• Optimized cleaner for storing only profitable files;
• Ability to set the number of RPC requests manually.

By updating nodes to the latest version, Datakeeper can maximize their earnings.

Datakeepers: contributors to DePIN

The DeNet Datakeepers network is strengthening and demonstrating improved performance. In July, 74 Datakeepers sent over 4500 proofs for storing users’ files. As a result, they earned a reward of 13+ TBY_mined and over 12 TBY were distributed as a system reward.

In addition, Datakeeper IDs were stolen over 10 times in July. With the competition intensifying, it is crucial to vigilantly monitor nodes to prevent Datakeeper ID interception and the need to purchase a more expensive spot.

Building presence on the market

DeNet recently participated in an AMA session hosted by our friends at Spheron, delving into decentralized storage and its promising role in shaping the future. Daniil from DeNet carefully explained how DeNet has addressed global data storage challenges by creating an algorithm-based decentralized storage solution.
