May was an exciting month for us, with significant achievements and growth to highlight. Here is the recap of the significant numbers and news from May.
Numbers
- Opened storage deposits reached 6.8 PB;
- Opened storage deposits within the Store&Earn program increased by 58%, reaching 4.6 PB;
- Datakeepers network welcomed 16 new members, bringing the total to 72;
- A sum of ~10 TBY was distributed to active community members;
- Marked a major milestone with over 10 million files stored.
Datakeepers: contributors to DePIN
The DeNet Datakeepers network is rapidly expanding and becoming more robust. In May, we reached a total of 72 Datakeepers, who managed to send over 4000 proofs for storing users’ files. As a result, they earned a reward of 12.2+ TBY_mined and over 8.5 TBY were distributed as a system reward. Besides that, Datakeepers receive substantial rewards in the Store&Earn program due to an increased 4x boost for their role.
Building presence on the market
DeNet is steadily increasing its presence in the fast-growing DePIN market, actively participating in and contributing to the industry-related discussions and initiatives.
Thus, DeNet has become one of the projects highlighted in a video created by Your Friend Andy. Andy pointed out that DeNet is a project with genuine value and practical real-world use cases. In the video, Andy elaborated on the fundamental concept of DeNet, explained the advantages of launching a node, and provided simple instructions on how to begin earning rewards through the Store&Earn program.
DeNet was also featured in a video by Nordic. Nordic has already created a highly comprehensive video on setting up the DeNet node and we recommend watching it for those who are eager to become a Datakeeper. In the latest video, Nordic showcased his current earnings within the Store&Earn program. Keep in mind that shown rewards can be significantly increased with the Datakeepers boost.
DeNet was invited to speak at the X Space Hostel by Farmsent, where we had a discussion on the trending narrative of DePIN. We delved into the factors driving the popularity of DePIN, and explored the crucial correlation between supply and demand in the market. It was a great opportunity for us to share our expertise gained over many years of building the DeNet Storage Protocol.

The DeNet File Token $DE has been gaining momentum in May, being marked several times as the largest gainer in several categories, including DePIN tokens category.
Service development
It has been announced that DeNet Storage is currently preparing to release a groundbreaking new feature. This update promises to provide even greater convenience for storing and accessing data. The highly anticipated release is scheduled for early June, allowing users to experience a whole new level of ease in managing their data in Web3 storage. Stay tuned for the DeNet Storage update!
