|What is Defender?

Defender is a special browser extension with which users of a decentralized network can verify the authenticity of sites and not become victims of fraudsters. This extension will protect users from unscrupulous updates of hackers and developers.
Our company aims to provide users with a decentralized and completely secure Internet, so this expansion will be an excellent solution in case of problems with data leakage or fraud.

|How does it work?

When a user opens a site, Defender creates a sha256 hash (an algorithm that provides security). Further, Defender compares hashes sent to other users, finds “match points” and reports that the site is protected. We can say that this extension rolls the site back to its old version and checks whether it is real, whether any unscrupulous updates have been made.

|What is a hash?

A specific numeric value converted to a fixed length and sewn into the code of any page. In simple words — encoded information on the page.

|How does Defender differ from other similar extensions?

The main difference of Defender is the decentralization of the system, data from the resources viewed will not fall into third hands.

|Does Defender work with all sites?

At the moment, the initial version of the expansion will only check cryptocurrency exchanges and wallets.

|Is it appropriate for all browsers/no connection restrictions?

Yes, you can install Defender on any browser. If you use more than one browser, you can install the extension on more than one browser at a time.

|Can you use it to mine, too?

Yes, users can also confirm the integrity of sites and receive rewards for this, just connect the extension and continue to use the usual resources as well.
During the testing phase, you can add sites to exceptions so that developers know which sites do not yet accept the extension.

|Does information about user data from verified sites can get to developers?

No, this extension uses only the URL of the page and the sha256 algorithm from the content. User data is fully protected and no one can view it. Later, when you run the extension, you can enter a privacy policy so that new users can immediately see what information the extension uses.

|Installing the extension is paid?

Currently downloading the extension is free.

|How to install?

You must install Tampermonkey in your browser, then click on the link: https ://defender.dfile.tech/vc/api/dfile.user.js., install the script proposed by TamperMonkey, installation completed. |What is dUSDC?

A token whose value is enhanced by increasing usage. It can be backed up by other tokens.

|What is Tampermonkey?

This is a special browser extension used to write custom scripts. Custom scripts are small computer programs that change the layout of a page, add or remove new features and content, or automate actions.

|Does the extension work on your computer only?

So far it cannot be installed on a smartphone.

|How to register your crypto-wallet in Defender?

While you can not register your wallet in Defender.

|Why does the MetaMask turn on when the extension is running?

MetaMask gives the user a local key to identify the user.

|What is REP and how does it affect the work of Defender?

REP — reputation points. Using the usual resources when the extension is connected, the user receives reputation points. Reputation grows when new sites are approved and falls when sites are accidentally opened without other evidence from the community. These points allow you to save coins for further withdrawal to a cryptocurrency account.

|What if the site loads for a long time with a connected extension?

In this case, you should first make sure that a problem with the download occurred due to the extension. If the problem appears to be an extension, try marking this site as an exception.

|Is there a chance of error? Can the extension take a temporary site/one-day for phishing?

There is such an opportunity, but at this stage of the expansion, it will only warn you about the potential danger of the site.

|How to get into testnet/how to start testing?

At the moment, our company is engaged in extension testing and anyone can take part in this, it is enough to establish an extension and join our channel in Telegram to maintain communication with developers and be able to ask any question of interest, or to note the shortcomings/bugs in the expansion.
