SUNDAY IN SURABAYA

On the rare nothing-to-do Sunday in Surabaya, Dennis had this idea for a quick getaway lunch at a place I took him to a few years ago, Prego– an Italian restaurant located a bit outside of Surabaya in the lush environment of Pandaan.

There was no one on the restaurant except us — very quiet. The food was great in my opinion; Dennis thought it was okay.

After that, we were thinking of where to go next. After browsing through Google Maps, we picked to explore Putuk Truno Waterfall since it would only take us 20 mins drive from there. Just realised that it might be the closest waterfall to Surabaya.

The parking was convenient, and it required us to walk around 10–15 mins down from the parking to the waterfall. They had built a walkway already — so it’s alright if you’re not equipped with the right shoes, and some people even walked with their flip flops. The walk was convenient, located next to a canyon, so the scenery was pleasant and it was also mostly in shade. It was a nice stroll.

The waterfall was at the end of the walk. You can either hang out near the waterfall for a sit, sip, or eat, or you can go down very near to the foot of the waterfall to play in the water. It’s maybe only 20 cm deep.

“You want adventure, I deliver.” — Dennis Keller

Quote of the day that he said, because I was complaining on the unexpected difficult walk with fashion shoes.

We took these pictures to commemorate our micro getaway. Let’s do it often even I complained a lot, Dennis!
