Dennis is a fan of height — there’s no question about that. He’ll happily jump on any chance to see a new city from a different perspective. Ideally, from the highest skyscraper in town.

Bangkok is well known for its countless rooftop bars. There is one place that recently opened that stood out and is easily the MUST VISIT DESTINATION when you’re coming to Bangkok.

One day after work, we checked that place out called KING POWER MAHANAKHON — with its new MAHANAKHON SKYWALK, the highest observation deck in Bangkok.

The observation deck started on the 74th floor, which is 2 floors of indoor-gazing room. This room gives 360 degrees angle from the building of the whole Bangkok.

Up three floors (whether with super-cool all-glass elevator or with all-glass stairs), then you’re on the 78th floor open air observation deck which has a bar and an open sitting stage to enjoy the view.

The most notable feature here is the glass floor located out of the edge of the highest floor in the building, where people can walk on. It is ah-ma-zing to be able to glass-walk. It felt like you’re hovering over all of those high buildings beneath you.

Before walking on the glass, visitors have to wear special foot cover. On the glass, you are not allowed to take pictures, so ideally having someone outside the glass area taking your picture is necessary.

BTS Station: Chong Nonsi

Tickets to access all levels cost 1050 baht (US$ 31.80), or 850 baht (US$ 25.74) for the indoor observatory only (74th floor), with a special introductory ticket price of 765 baht (US$ 23.16) available until 31 January 2019, and 1 free drink at the bar.

Our suggestion is to come for sunset, so 4–4.30 pm will be the perfect timing to visit.
