As Project Manager of the Man Engine at Golden Tree Productions, I was responsible for bringing to life the largest mechanical puppet ever created in Britain — with Artistic Director Will Coleman, genius Lead Designer Hal Silvester and an incredible team comprising hundreds of partners, sponsors, staff, freelancers and contractors including designers, fabricators, puppeteers, choirs, schools, engineering consultants, safety consultants, event managers, traffic managers, stewards, technicians, medics, marketers, caterers, artists, filmmakers, councillors, hosts and volunteers who worked together tirelessly to create this unique celebration of our incredible Cornish mining heritage.

Standing at over 10 metres tall, the Man Engine was the major event commissioned for the “Tinth” anniversary celebrations of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Landscape; a two-week participative ritual pilgrimage stretching the length of Kernow, drawing a live audience of 150,000 people to 22 public events, with a global media reach of over 112 million people in 104 countries. The Man Engine ceremony performed to a crowd if 24,000 people in Penzance on the penultimate day in his two-week long pilgrimage.
