Before Depends on the Day was officially launched, Dr. Mehmet Yildiz of Illumination wrote a couple of great articles about Dysautonomia (links below). We initiated a discussion and discovered that we were like-minded in some very important areas.

As a result of that interaction, we decided it was time to have a publication dedicated to Dysautonomia. I wanted to start a publication on this topic for some time, but I hesitated given my current health status. Dr. Yildiz gave me the encouragement I needed. Needless to say, I was thrilled when he further offered to bring Depends on the Day under the Illumination umbrella and act as an editor as well!

The following excerpt is from the beginning of the article by Dr. Yildiz. I would encourage you to read the full article by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page.

“Dysautonomia affects over 70 million people globally. The condition relates to our well-being, physical and mental health.

Dysautonomia includes common conditions such as Pure Autonomic Failure, Diabetic Autonomic Neuropathy, Vasovagal Syncope, and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome.
