The Russian Imperial Brass Orchestra will open the festival. The full program includes exhibitions, concerts and film screenings, craft fair (with support from SHADI, a company behind the unique fish skin and scales processing technique), workshops and roundtables, traditional Russian folkfest Kupala Day (Nativity of St. John the Baptist), The Imperial Ball for the 400th Anniversary of the Romanov Family, culminating with a gala dinner in honor of the Couturier’s anniversary. In addition to several fashion shows, the winners of the special designer competition “Chance” will be announced. A jury panel co-chaired by longtime friends-designers Pierre Cardin and Slava Zaitsev includes Simon Ungless, Director of Graduate School of Fashion and Ian Mackintosh Director of Public Relations of Graduate School of Fashion, both at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, Ms. Yaffa Assouline, Publisher of Luxury Culture, Stephan Rabimov, publisher and editor-in-chief of DEPESHA, among other fashion industry experts.

“France and Russia have a long prolific history of cultural exchange. Fashion has always been a part of that vibrant conversation. Pierre Cardin as a person and brand personifies the power of fashion to be the medium of social change. He was the first international designer to open production in the Soviet Union. His philosophy helped bring down the Iron Curtain. We are thrilled to be a part of this tribute to his trailblazing spirit!” says Stephan Rabimov.
