Simple complexity

using a glitch to produce … while loosing control

QuillSpace, generated in Virtual Reality, using Quill software by Oculus Studio and Oculus Rift

Quill is a software that allows 2D tools to be used in 3D space. One of my favorite to produce virtual space directly in virtual reality, from room scale to landscape, (see here for “what” and “why”).

Geometry

straight line tool + scale from start to end + color + end line rub out = a strange spatiality based on a glitch of the software

The power of the glitch

“Literally, a glitch is a spike or change in voltage in an electrical circuit which takes place when the circuit suddenly has a new load put on it.”Astronaut John Glenn 1962

Glitch art is the practice of using digital or analog errors for aesthetic purposes by either corrupting digital data or physically manipulating electronic devices (thanks to wikipedia!).

Based on that glitchy-generated complexity, a space comes from thirty lines
